THE FISHING

One of the Most Diverse Programs in South America

Within a short drive, anglers experience radically different ecosystems — from arid, windswept pampas to lush, coastal temperate rainforests — translating into an unparalleled variety of fishable waters and angling techniques.

Large Freestone Rivers

Classic float trips down major systems like the Simpson and Paloma rivers — casting large streamers along undercut banks and skating big dry flies through riffles.

Spring Creeks & Small Streams

Private access to intimate, meandering waters like the Mogote and Huemules. Some remote stretches are reached via horseback for peaceful wade fishing.

Trophy Lakes & Lagoons

Lago Barroso sits right outside the lodge, while Lago Azul and Lago Elizalde offer deep, glacial water famous for sight-fishing large, cruising trout.

Targeted Species & Size

Brown Trout: the primary focus of the region, known for mature, heavy-bodied wild browns. Fish in the 14–20 inch range are common, with legitimate opportunities to land trophies exceeding 24 inches.

Rainbow Trout: healthy populations of hard-fighting wild rainbows are also found throughout the rivers and lakes.
